Laura's summer is part of the Chimene series. The title Laura's summer comes from the film Brief encounter and the name of the character Celia Johnson plays in the film. I watched it during a lazy summer in 2005, it must have been in a brief pause from watching England thrashing the ozzies at cricket and finally winning the ashes back from them.

Please note this painting has some silver colour and so catches the light. The front photograph presents this more accurately.
