Fred's Medusa - by Paul Godden
Acrylic on canvas, 30cm x 30cm x 4cm.
Signed, dated and titled on the back of the canvas.
Fred's Medusa evolved without any difficulty into a natural form. The brown colour in the background is not actually brown. The background is a bronze colour which does not translate digitally. This means the painting shines when light reflects from it. The painting is called Fred's Medusa because a friend called Fred visited while it was being painted, she liked it a lot and so I decided to name it after her. The Medusa part came from the painting itself, the green leaves/tentacles suggesting the name.
