e=mc2 and quantum expressionism - by Paul Godden

Acrylic on canvas, 30cm x 30cm x 4cm.

Signed, dated and titled on the back of the canvas.

This is the third painting in a trilogy (the other two are e=mc2 and e=mc2 and cubism) of paintings exploring the relationship between art and science. Particularly the way science through Einsteins theories and work that has been done as a result of them has begun to deconstruct the universe. Modern theories of painting from Cubism through to abstract expressionism have followed a similar line. Visually deconstructing what we see. So that now we don't actually need to see an object or scene. The artist can just express themselves and the viewer can choose to either attempt to interpret what the artist is doing or just place their own interpretation on the painting. This trilogy has resulted in a change of style in my work and the paintings that follow can be described as formal abstract expressionism.

Please note this painting has a small amount of silver which catches the light, this effect can be seen on the photograph above.

Price = £270 (this painting is part of a trilogy and the price is for all three paintings)
